Last weekend we took a bit of time for ourselves and went for a Sunday drive. We had heard that the Crowe River was high and it was worth a look.
Off we went but we did not expect to see what we did. There at the bridge were many cars. We parked on the side of the road and went to take a look.
The water was rushing down the river creating huge waves that were not to be wasted. There under the bridge were wake boarders and kayakers surfing the river. It was fun to watch and think that if we were only younger we might have been part of it, but alas those days for us are gone. We can only be audience participants.
We enjoyed it for awhile then took off for a walk in the park to enjoy a lovely sunny afternoon stroll.

The water rushed by with a deafening surge, spraying and crashing on the river rocks. It was beautiful to see. Then looking around the forest I notices that life was returning. First I saw one, then two, and then it seemed everywhere I looked the forest floor was covered with wood anemones in shades of pink and blue and pure white. It was such a wonderful sight. |
